The first activity 
of Putera in Chennai was the membership drive where we recruited Malaysians from Ramachandra Dental College, Saveetha Dental College, Anna University, Ragas Dental College, SRM College & etc. Months later we expanded our membership drive to other regions in South India such as Salem, Bangalore, Manipal, Belgaum, Mangalore and Hyderabad.
Initially the membership was only to Malaysian Indians but the Consulate General of Malaysia did advise us to cater for other races as well. Then we amended and recruited the non-indians as an associate member and the local Indians, foreigners as friends of Putera. This have made us to have more people to work
within th
e system since we are limited in Chennai.
